We had to write about it didn’t we? With the entire tech world clamouring once again for details of the new must have gadget, Apple have asserted their position as THE global leader in technology. With a device noone has yet seen, and precious few details have been released about.
And, just to get techheads salivating more than they are already, a conference was announced by Apple at their California HQ, with a date set for 04/10/11. The enticing tagline ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ places the metaphorical cherry on the cake.
So, what can we expect from the new iPhone? Or should we say iPhones, as reports appear to confirm that a budget iPhone 4Gs will precede the iPhone 5 in terms of features and dimensions.
A larger, edge to edge display, thinner silhouette and an elongated home button are all features all but confirmed to appear on the latest model. But, as with any Apple product, cards are being firmly pressed against the chest of the new CEO, Tim Cook.
Pressure will no doubt be heaped upon him after the departure of the much loved Steve Jobs. And, as acting master of ceremonies, the press will be sure to keep up a level of scrutiny around his opening salco last seen when some newspaper tapped some phones somewhere. But what better to shoe in a new era of leadership for Apple with than the worlds most hotly anticipated smartphone?
Needless to say, ears will be kept firmly pressed to the ground in preparation for tomorrow’s conference. But we will NOT be queuing for it on Regents Street. That’s what girlfriends/partners/easily influenced younger siblings are for…
